About

Susan HarveyI have always loved stationery and art shops, I’m unable to go in them without buying something. Because of this, I’ve always had some sort of paper in my pockets; notebooks, origami paper, things with texture, something to write on, draw on or fold.

I studied art between ’92 and ’98, eventually going more toward user interface design and function, I’ve been self-employed as a computer programmer since then.

I love sewing, quilting runs in my family, I still have a lot of my grandma’s cutting templates, designs and some of her wonderful Liberty fabrics.

The first time I tried making notebooks was in the early ’90s when having a particularly bad flare-up of my arthritis forced me to take up more sitting down activities.

The past few years for me have been more about origami, but since shielding for Covid19 I decided to give bookbinding another go. I’m enjoying it so much more than I did the first time and now have a large collection of different types of notebooks.

I’ve also taken some time this year to work on other projects I’m interested in and hope I’ll soon have more things for sale on Etsy, linked from my shop page.
